If you are to make a comment, whether that be online, to somebody directly or if you are talking about them to somebody else, think to yourself is this comment kind and is it helpful. More over, how would you feel if you were them and somebody said that about you?
This 13 minute video is a re-enactment of the type of things people experience every day. Whether it be face to face or behind a screen, comments get made without any consideration to how the person on the receiving end may feel.
Within this video, we see three fictional characters, Charlotte and Amelia get bullied and receive harmful comments both face to face and online. Each of the actors, Helen, Chloe and Eoghan, share their real life experiences.
Whilst the bullying comments featured in this video were scripted, these are sadly the sort of things that are seen everyday within society, both online and face to face.
Testimonies
The below videos feature people sharing their own experiences. The voiceovers you hear are scripted but show the type of judgemental comments they have received in their life.
Sam Layton’s experiences

With over 30,000 followers on social media, I often do live streams or post videos online. Almost always, I sadly get unkind or rude comments. Whether it be intentionally misgendering me, making negative comments about my weight or rude comments about the fact that I am blind in one eye, it is a common occurrence to get these comments. The comments are that frequent that, in the occasions that there are no rude comments, me and my friends are almost surprised. The issue is, being on social media doesn’t justify people making these rude comments. Comments of these nature are that common that I am used to them but it shouldn’t be the case.
